This resource aims to tell the story of physical activity, exercise, and health in Indigenous communities. Divided into four main sections, learners will begin their journey by uncovering some of the history of physical activity in Indigenous health. Physical activity and exercise are integral parts of Indigenous identity, woven into cultural tradition throughout history. Traditional games hold not only physical purpose, but also spiritual, cultural, and practical roles. The Wholistic Model (a balance of physical, cultural, intellectual-emotional, and spiritual well-being) is applied via physical activity to help develop the individual. This is important to how physical activity and individual development is approached in Indigenous communities. While there is a long history of Indigenous participation and achievement in physical activity, there is an equally long history of exclusion. Indigenous peoples have different lived experiences of physical activity, including a history of systemic and overt forms of discrimination, as well as resurgence.

This resource aims to tell the story of physical activity, exercise, and health in Indigenous communities, and helps to address the Canadian national call to action for Truth and Reconciliation by providing an open access educational resource that may serve as one step in decolonizing physical activity in the post-secondary student community.

Features of this resource, which may be used as a stand-alone resource and/or for an academic course, include: suggested course framework, wholistic learning objectives, and content that may be used in lectures presented as informational text, suggested readings and videos to augment learning. As well, this resource includes a variety of interactive activities for students such as warm-up and cool-down activities, and opportunities for students to record and reflect on their learning.

The author's goals in writing Exploring Business were simple: (1) introduce students to business in an exciting way and (2) provide faculty with a fully developed teaching package that allows them to do the former. Toward those ends, the following features are included in this text:1- Integrated (Optional) Nike Case Study: A Nike case study is available for instructors who wish to introduce students to business using an exciting and integrated case. Studying a dynamic organization on a real-time basis allows students to discover the challenges that it faces, and exposes them to critical issues affecting the business, such as globalization, ethics and social responsibility, product innovation, diversity, supply chain management, and e-business.2- A Progressive (Optional) Business Plan: Having students develop a business plan in the course introduces students to the excitement and challenges of starting a business and helps them discover how the functional areas of business interact. This textbook package includes an optionalintegrated business plan project modeled after one refined by the author and her teaching team over the past ten years.3- AACSB Emphasis: The text provides end-of-chapter questions, problems, and cases that ask students to do more than regurgitate information. Most require students to gather information, assess a situation, think about it critically, and reach a conclusion. Each chapter presents ten Questions and Problems as well as five cases on areas of skill and knowledge endorsed by AACSB: Learning on the Web, Career Opportunities, The Ethics Angle, Team-Building Skills, and The Global View. More than 70% of end-of-chapter items help students build skills in areas designated as critical by AACSB, including analytical skills, ethical awareness and reasoning abilities, multicultural understanding and globalization, use of information technology, and communications and team oriented skills. Each AACSB inspired exercise is identified by an AACSB tag and a note indicating the relevant skill area.4- Author-Written Instructor Manual (IM): For the past eleven years, Karen Collins has been developing, coordinating and teaching (to over 3,500 students) an Introduction to Business course. Sections of the course have been taught by a mix of permanent faculty, graduate students, and adjuncts.

When it comes to climate change, studies have shown that youth are more likely to report mental health concerns in comparison to older generations. Emerging research underlines that youth who enroll in environmental classes consistently report increased levels of stress as a result of their heightened awareness of planetary health challenges. This toolkit is designed for use by educators to empower students to think critically about the structural and socio-political inequities that affect them while centering climate change and mental health through embedded reflective exercises. Questions that explore eco-anxiety, ecological paralysis and ecological grief are included in this toolkit. Students are encouraged to answer questions according to the emotions that they resonate most with and want to explore further. Additionally, students are encouraged to examine the relationship between anthropogenic activity, mental health and their values, emotions and behaviours. When it comes to climate change, studies have shown that youth are more likely to report mental health concerns in comparison to older generations. Emerging research underlines that youth who enroll in environmental classes consistently report increased levels of stress as a result of their heightened awareness of planetary health challenges. Unfortunately, though there are increasing numbers of people who will be affected by the mental health impacts of climate change, factors such as psychological distance and denial influence the way individuals form their beliefs and take action on this issue. In response to the need for more innovative teaching tools in undergraduate curricula, as well as the eagerness of youth to learn about planetary health, a 25-minute film and accompanying toolkit were created focusing on the relationship between mental health and climate change. In addition to climate change experts, the film features UBC students who were previously enrolled in the UBC nursing elective course NURS 290: Health Impacts of Climate Change. The educational toolkit uses knowledge mobilization and health promotion strategies based on the Transtheoretical Model of Change. The film and toolkit are tools designed for use by educators to empower students to think critically about the structural and socio-political inequities that affect them while centering climate change and mental health through embedded reflective exercises. By featuring the voices of students, this project is not only relevant and impactful but also addresses the diverse learning needs of students. This pressbook is divided into four chapters. The first one provides different definitions and explanations for equity, diversity, inclusion, and decolonization (EDID). The second chapter focuses on the existing legal frameworks that are meant to legally organize EDID in both Canada and Québec.
