Artificial Intelligence (AI) is emerging rapidly across industries—including K–12 education. To support educators and education leaders in equitable and inclusive uses of AI in classrooms across Washington, the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) presents this initial guidance, which emphasizes a human-centered approach to using this ever-evolving tool.
OSPI’s guidance on integrating AI into Washington classrooms is designed to be used by stakeholders across public education. The document covers definitions, principles and values, guidance, policy, academic integrity and AI assistance, and professional development. .

In this course we will look at ways to change the narrative on school libraries from questioning the need for them or how to renovate the industrial era models of a single, shared resource environment to a learner-centered model. We will work on how to move beyond traditional concepts, personal biases and even past current Learning Commons and Maker Spaces to creating learning environments where resources are ubiquitously accessible to students in virtual and physical formats. We will look at the enormous complexity of this model in a K-12 school and why not exploring unique, alternative concepts may be hastening the elimination of school librarians.

During your studies you will frequently be asked to write a paper. For such a paper you will need information, but how do you get it? What exactly do you need? Where can you find it? How do you go about it? Almost anyone can use Google, of course, but more is expected of a TU Delft student! We challenge you to go beyond using the popular search engines. This instruction will help you discover what there is to learn about information skills.

The Foundations of Applied AI course is an introductory exploration into the world of artificial intelligence (AI), designed for undergraduates with no prior experience in AI. This online, 3-credit course offers a deep dive into AI's core concepts, applications, and the ethical implications of deploying AI technologies across various industries. Through multimedia lectures, case studies, and hands-on projects, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of how AI can transform business, healthcare, and more, while also navigating the ethical considerations vital for responsible AI use.By the end of the course, students will be equipped to identify AI opportunities, understand AI's potential impacts, and discuss the importance of ethical frameworks in AI development. This course lays the groundwork for a future in AI, preparing students for further specialization or to apply AI insights in their fields.

This introductory exercise covers everything you need to know to get started with ArcGIS Pro 3.0. We start with turning the program on, data management, the project interface, adding and manipulating raster and vector data, symbology and other display techniques, layouts and more.
This exercise was written in ArcGIS Pro 3.0.1 No previous geospatial experience is needed, but users will need to have access to ArcGIS Pro. Basic computer literacy is expected. The exercise is part of the introductory curriculum developed at Utah State University for their Applied GIS Certificate program.

Students learn about complex networks and how to use graphs to represent them. They also learn that graph theory is a useful part of mathematics for studying complex networks in diverse applications of science and engineering, including neural networks in the brain, biochemical reaction networks in cells, communication networks, such as the internet, and social networks. Students are also introduced to random processes on networks. An illustrative example shows how a random process can be used to represent the spread of an infectious disease, such as the flu, on a social network of students, and demonstrates how scientists and engineers use mathematics and computers to model and simulate random processes on complex networks for the purposes of learning more about our world and creating solutions to improve our health, happiness and safety.

Student groups use the Java programming language to implement the algorithms for optical character recognition (OCR) that they developed in the associated lesson. They use different Java classes (provided) to test and refine their algorithms. The ultimate goal is to produce computer code that recognizes a digit on a scoreboard. Through this activity, students experience a very small part of what software engineers go through to create robust OCR methods. This software design lesson/activity set is designed to be part of a Java programming class.
