Emergency Remote Teaching: Response of Pandemic Pedagogy as a New Normal Teaching
Conditional Remix & Share Permitted
CC BY-SA
Rating
0.0 stars

The main thrust is to explore conceptual foundation, instructional design, delivery mechanisms, Crisis Management, and Benchmark proposals for high-performing Emergency Remote Teaching plans. Since the Pedagogical Approach of ERT is also based on Humanizing Pedagogy and Pedagogy of Care to adapt to student needs, some other aspects include assessing the system’s current digital infrastructure (internet, device access), student and teacher digital capabilities, and budget availability must be considered while adopting emergency remote teaching. This work will prepare the school, university, and college teachers to acquire 21st-century skills and competence along with technology-supported pedagogical innovations based on different technologies, digital tools, and techniques to enrich the emergence of remote teaching experiences.

Emergent Literacy with Older Learners

An emergent learner could be described as someone in the initial stages of learning to read and write and encompasses all behaviors and understandings preceding conventional reading and writing, as noted by Koppenhaver, Coleman, Kalman, and Yoider (1991) and Sulzby (1985). With the help of high-quality instruction, emergent learners will be provided the opportunity to acquire foundational reading and writing skills. As all beginning communicators, emergent learners rely on those around them to provide access and instruction to age-respectful and meaningful learning opportunities. Challenges may arise for students who struggle to manipulate books physically or for those who are non-speaking and/or use aided AAC. In such cases, this module offers solutions to support you as their teacher. Teachers must also face the reality of instructing all different learning levels, whether they are at the emergent, transitional, or conventional stages of literacy learning. This module also supports the creation of high-quality literacy lesson planning to meet your student's needs regardless of their learning stage. This task can be daunting and difficult without the right tools.  Using OpenAI to support material adaptation and modifications can assist teachers in removing barriers and ensuring that all students can engage in enriching reading and writing experiences.

Encouraging Student Academic Motivation
Read the Fine Print
Rating
0.0 stars

One of the greatest frustrations mentioned by many teachers is that their students are often not motivated to learn. Teachers quickly come to recognize the warning signs of poor motivation in their classroom: students put little effort into homework and classwork assignments, slump in their seats and fail to participate in class discussion, or even become confrontational toward the teacher when asked about an overdue assignment. One common method for building motivation is to tie student academic performance and classroom participation to specific rewards or privileges. Critics of reward systems note, however, that they can be expensive and cumbersome to administer and may lead the student to engage in academics only when there is an outside 'payoff.' While there is no magic formula for motivating students, the creative teacher can sometimes encourage student investment in learning in ways that do not require use of formal reward systems.
