    Materials Needed

    Warm-Up

    Describe!

    Beschreiben!

    • Describe your best friend, mom, dad, or sibling!

    Main Activity

Guess Who?: The Students will ask each other questions to try and guess the person they have.

    1. The instructor will make sure their Zooms are in gallery mode.

    2. Each student should chose a person to be from the Google People slide.

    3. The instructor will choose someone. They shouldn’t tell anyone who they’ve chosen.

    4. The instructor will call on a student. The students need to ask “Ja/Nein” Fragen:

    • Der Lehrer wird einen Studenten anrufen. Die Schüler müssen "Ja/Nein" Fragen fragen:
    • Hat deine Person rote Haare? (Does your person have red hair?)
    • Ist deine Person alt? (Is your person old?)
    • Ist deine Person eine Frau? (Is your person a women?)

    5. The instructor will answer ‘Ja’ or ‘Nein’ and choose someone else to ask a question.

    6. Everyone should keep track of the answers. When they think they know who the chosen player is, they should type their guess into the chat.

    7. The instructor will reveal who guessed correctly.

    • Der Lehrer verrät, wer richtig geraten hat.

    8. Then change the slide to the Neue Worter! Slide, have them guess the meaning of the new words and then switch to the descriptive words slides.

    9. The same process as before but now the students will ask questions based on the words describing personality.

    10. The Personality description can be done 1-2 times (depending on time).

    Wrap-Up

Ask students the following question to finish the activities:

    • Wie würdet ihr euch selbst beschreiben? (How would you describe yourself?)

    Cultural Notes

Here is a video from Easy German, "Finding Friends in Germany".
