Course Description:GEO 212. Introduction to Meteorology (4 credit hour). Physical and chemical conditions that regulate global weather phenomena. Includes structure of the atmosphere, temperature, humidity, air pressure and winds, the development of weather systems, tornadoes and hurricanes, and the parameters that affect local and global climate. Laboratory includes image interpretation, field observation and prediction. This is formatted as an 8 week/module course.Learning Outcomes:1. Describe the origin and structure of the earth and its atmosphere. (1, 7)2. This laboratory manual is an introduction to a standard chemical lab course for Arizona Community Colleges CHEM 130. It covers basic protocols, glassware, and handling techniques. Students will be presented with full immersive experiences to enrich their understanding of basic chemistry.

This is a white paper that highlights an OER research study conducted at Yavapai College in Arizona. The study tracked retention, completion and success rates of student enrolled in courses using OER compared to similar courses not using OER. A student survey was administered to collect data on the students perspective of using OER in a class. A faculty survey was also administered to collect data on the faculty perspective of teaching with OER materials and their interpretation of how the students interacted with the materials. Results are shared and discussed.

GEO 131: Introduction to Physical Geography is an OER course that provides a comprehensive overview of Earth's natural systems and the forces that shape its physical landscape. Students will explore key topics such as weather, climate, hydrology, ecology, geology, and tectonics. Through both lectures and hands-on lab exercises, students will examine the processes of volcanism, erosion, soil formation, and glaciation, and learn to apply geographic theories to real-world issues. Introduction to the theory and techniques of differential and integral calculus of elementary functions with emphasis on applications in business and finance, taught both online and in-person in Fall 2022 at Yavapai College. Note: Computer use and graphing calculator required (TI-83/84 recommended).This course makes use of an embedded OER textbook, but also uses Lumen OHM homework assignments; these require a subscription to Lumen, which in this instance was provided by the institution. In cases where that is not possible, the homework assignments will need to be replaced, or students will have to pay a fee to access the homework. This course was created collaboratively by faculty from multiple community colleges in Arizona including, Central Arizona College, Eastern Arizona College, Mohave Community Collegge, Northland Pioneer College, and Yavapai College. through this collaborative effort, this course can be adopted among any institutions--in Arizona and beyond--who are looking for a college algebra courses.

Microbiology covers the scope and sequence requirements for a single-semester microbiology course for non-majors. The book presents the core concepts of microbiology with a focus on applications for careers in allied health. The pedagogical features of the text make the material interesting and accessible while maintaining the career-application focus and scientific rigor inherent in the subject matter. Microbiology’s art program enhances students’ understanding of concepts through clear and effective illustrations, diagrams, and photographs.

This  manual was made for a CUREs college course that covers all basic knowledge and techniques of microbiology at a 200 level understanding.  The labs require a fully equipped microbiology lab and general anatomy lab resources. 

This poster set was designed for display in a microbiology teaching laboratory. The consistent 12 step layout contributes to a cohesive appearance. The color hints on the bottom of each poster shows what students should expect as results from staining. These posters were designed to be printed as 18x24 in, or displayed digitally.
