Introduction to VR in Unity & Unreal
Marketplaces - Unreal & Unity
The biggest hurdle for many when start in game engines is the daunting task of having to create assets for use in the engine itself. The basic polys are only so cool for so long, which means at some point folks will want to create accounts to access the Unity and Unreal Marketplaces. Although many charge for their assets, both markeplaces offer free downloads to many different elements that can be used in your games
Both Stores require accounts - this is where your copies will be stored for your use in the engines. Additionally you can access the marketplace via the Epic Game Launcher for Unreal and Window > Asset Store in the Unity UI. As of writing this article, for the Unreal Engine folks are really lucking out as the Paragon game assets have been released to the public due to the game shutting down. This means $12 million dollars worth of assets are available to the Unreal Developer Community.[2]
