This project is an attempt to build a comprehensive database of Arabic place names that covers the entire world, not just place names in the Arabic speaking world. The place names are proofread carefully to ensure adherence to the rules of hamza orthography, something often ignored in most publications. The database gives the correct name in Arabic script, its name in English or transliteration, spelling variants, and common errors in spelling. Frequency of variants is also given.

This Arabic-English dictionary of the Qur'an is not compiled in the traditional, alphabetical way, but rather by chapter and word order in the Qur'an. The list is available both for viewing online as well as via downloadable PDF documents. Prepositions and attached pronouns are included in the list alongside full words. The word list doesn't include every single word in a particular verse if that word has been mentioned before, i.e. ____ is only listed once in the Surat al-Fatiha vocabulary despite being in the chapter twice. Roots of longer words are frequently given.

This website is for those who would like to explore the Qur'an in a variety of languages. Users can view the Qur'an by chapter or by section (divided into 5 sections as well as into 30). The exegesis for the reasons of the Qur'an's revelation (Asbaab an-Nazuul) is included as are seven different tafasir, or exegeses. Translations of the Qur'an into 66 different languages are also found on the website; some languages have more than one translation available. Also included are Arabic definitions of the words of the Qur'an.

For instance, if you type in ___ it will give you six different words that have the same stem (or root). This manual, written in 1914, includes a very basic introduction to the colloquial Egyptian Arabic spoken in Cairo. The 80-page text focuses mostly on vocabulary and contains 28 different word lists. There is also a brief section on grammar, one on the Arabic alphabet and how it is pronounced in Egypt, and a collection of sample dialogues. Although the book covers the alphabet, most sections rely on transliteration into Latin characters. The filesize of the PDF is 5 MB.
