This is an ongoing series of lessons to teach the 26 letters of the alphabet through functional skills that can be used on a daily/weekly basis building on and transferring to other educational task. These lessons incorporate coloring, marking, painting, cutting, pasting, creating, listening and following directions.

* This is intended to be used for learners in G1 and up.  This module may fit into a larger course to provide a broader content for the module as it is openly and freely shared.  ASL (American Sign Language) is a visual language. Instead of verbal language, you use your body such as your hands and facial expressions.  You can actually use ASL to communicate whenever you like, use it like your daily conversations.

Assignment can be used to assess understanding of investing concepts. Students use both knowledge and creativity to design a slide show of terms that relate to investing. *See Resource Library for attachments (rubric and student example).

Student Success Pathways at Lansing Community College developed from the desire to help our students at Lansing Community College cope with the increasing costs of college textbooks and the difficulty of finding appropriate and affordable materials. Through this project, we are giving students the opportunity for open accessibility to the textbook and a more reasonable college experience. This course introduces to the format and style of letter writing for academic purpose.

It explains the format of academic writing, style and structure along with citation.

This is a short description of the ACAT Method.The method uses analogous comparisons by taking examples or situations from everyday life and in consequence the logical or analogous transfer to the scientific problem. The method uses the development of imaginations or “pictures in the head” to develop a view of the analogy; this picture is transferred as a problem-solving idea to the concrete scientific problem. Multimedia material like animations are used to provide a higher level of imagination and to develop the understanding for the discussed problem.

The students will use ACC basketball statistics to practice the process of converting fractions to decimals then to percents and will learn how to create and edit a spreadsheet. They will then use this spreadsheet to analyze their data. This unit is done during the basketball season which takes approximately 15 weeks from the middle of November to the middle of March. Teachers must have Clarisworks to open the sample spreadsheet in the lesson, but may recreate it in another spreadsheet program.

Austin Community College (ACC) Learn OER includes a series of self-paced online learning modules.
