This is a blog that links to videos, music, and other information about studying and learning Arabic. The blog provides comments on information provided. For instance, there is a link to an episode of The Simpsons in Arabic while providing sentences and translations of some of the more complicated phrasing.

This group of free videos uploaded to YouTube by Dar Al Syraj offers myriad opportunities for young children to learn the Arabic language. There are multiple videos on the alphabet and the letters, including writing, singing, and pronouncing the various letters, as well as videos on basic vocabulary such as animals and days of the week. Most of the 40 uploaded videos are no more than a couple of minutes in length. Some of the videos include transliterated words and lyrics along with the songs.

This page contains a list of all the letters in the Arabic alphabet, organized in seven groups. Users can listen to a native speaker read the names of the letters online or download the clips for home use. Users can also print out selected letters. The site also lists information about writing in Arabic, including the short vowel system, joining the Arabic letters together, and the names for symbols commonly used in email addresses.

In this video segment from Between the Lions, Leon Redbone sings a fun alphabet song. In alphabetical order, each letter takes the stage along with a Between the Lions character or image that begins with that letter. Students create a class alphabet book or "ABCDarium," a book that uses images of animals or objects to illustrate each letter of the alphabet. The book is in the style of a medieval illuminated manuscript and incorporates both art and writing. Students decorate large uppercase letters of the alphabet and draw an original picture to illustrate each letter.

This resource was created for upper elementary-beginning intermediate ESL students.  This unit consists of 8 lessons.  It is designed to be completed with students who already have a base knowledge of the alphabet, sounds, and basic spelling and are moving into the application stage of this content. The object of the lessons is to circle as many of the objects the student knows as possible, say the name of each correctly, spell the name of the object correctly, create a sentence using the item, etc.  There is also a reading and games portion  The unit can easily be imported to a powerpoint for more interactive learning in a traditional or virtual setting.

This primer provides a basic introduction to Egyptian colloquial Arabic, beginning with the alphabet, demonstrating both pronunciation and the writing system. From there the text moves on to discussing the parts of speech as well as some of the dialect's basic grammar. The book then progresses to common phrases and ends with a vocabulary section that relies on transliteration.

This manual, written in 1914, includes a very basic introduction to the colloquial Egyptian Arabic spoken in Cairo. The 80-page text focuses mostly on vocabulary and contains 28 different word lists. There is also a brief section on grammar, one on the Arabic alphabet and how it is pronounced in Egypt, and a collection of sample dialogues. Although the book covers the alphabet, most sections rely on transliteration into Latin characters. The filesize of the PDF is 5 MB.

Flashcard Machine is a one stop search for flashcards. It contains printable flashcards that cover a plethora of Arabic vocabulary words. There are flashcards that provide the names of the week days, the months, and names of countries, and much more. Users can also study from flashcards that provide vocabulary words presented in textbooks such as the Al-Kitaab series.

In this activity, students will get exposure to different French sounds. They will practice the alphabet and common tongue twisters. They won't have to worry about the meaning of what they're saying, but more so get comfortable moving their mouths in a new way.

This is a program designed to teach individuals different language scripts, among which Arabic is included. This website from the University of Victoria is intended to teach individuals the basics of the Arabic alphabet, including the correct pronunciation of letters and words. The website is broken into consonants and vowels, listening and reading exercises, and dictation. Section include an introduction, examples, and exercises and tests to ensure proper learning. Short vowels are also introduced in these lessons. Letter keys are provided for those not on a computer that allows for typing in Arabic.

An interactive lesson on developing literacy skills for young adult women, for ages 15 and above. This lesson focuses on the recognition and identification of the letters A, B, C, T.

This website includes the entire Qur'an, searchable by chapter. An audio component is available for users to listen to the Qur'an as they are reading it in Arabic and in English translation. English words in red include exegesis of the term. The 'learn Arabic' portion of this Qur'an website includes analysis of Arabic grammatical structures. Included are charts of the alphabet, personal pronouns, prepositions, verbs and adverbs, and a verbal sentence equation that helps students construct sentences by choosing a subject, verb, and direct object.

This Coptic website contains a section for learning languages. In the Arabic learning section, there are nineteen different categories including the alphabet, grammar, numbers, and groups of vocabulary words used in daily life, such as women's clothing and insects. The vocabulary in these categories include labeled illustrations.

This blog aims to teach people the Lebanese dialect. It uses both video components and themed vocabulary lists such as weather and words for schools and universities. Vocabulary lists are written in both Arabic and transliterated English. Cultural components about Lebanon and occasional news items are included.
