In this engaging unit, students will design and plant a square-foot garden that will be their central tool. Through the growing season, they will explore nutrition content in their everyday lives and see how it relates to what they are growing.

Through providing the relevant vocabulary and cultural background for the topic, hair, students gain confidence in coping with situations of everyday life. While repeating and applying the input they will develop their listening and reading skills and get an understanding of the recent trends in Germany. Furthermore, students will acquire the competency to compare certain aspects of life in Germany and the US through the final listening activity.

The purpose of Preservation Problem Solvers is to encourage students to use leadership and resourceful behaviors to think like a scientist. This module extends the Essential Strategies of Attributes, Questioning, and Creative Problem Solving introduced in Kindergarten and First Grade, is for all students. The classroom teacher should work with a specialist or special educator to find or develop alternate activities or resources for visually impaired students, where appropriate.

In this activity students will practice their listening comprehension skills by listening to popular French music. They will also practice sharing their opinions regarding music and describing the general message of a song.

The History of Google – This is one of my favorite reading lessons because I can use it with business students, adults, and kids- it’s a hit with all of them. When to start teaching gerunds?As I mentioned before, I used this lesson with a pre-intermediate student and I think this is a great place to start. Regardless of the age of the student, if his/her/their proficiency is pre-intermediate then learning and teaching gerunds will be fun for all of you. Keep in mind that students at this level should have a general idea of how to read, write, speak and understand English; this lesson will help improve these skills.The purpose of this lesson is for students to practice verbs that are followed by gerunds or infinitives with no change in meaning. They will also learn how to determine when to use gerunds or infinitives. Moreover, they will work on answering questions using two sentences: one with the gerund and one with the infinitive. Students will also have the opportunity to create their questions, it’s really fun to see what they come up with. This lesson plan focuses on simple concepts that students can use to practice speaking English. Since advertising is a universal topic, you can use this lesson with students of all levels and interests. In this lesson, students are introduced to vocabulary and concepts related to brands, target markets and advertising channels. In this unit, students investigate how to protect a passenger in a mock car crash. Students learn about forces, including magnetic forces, and how they interact with objects. Students engineer a solution to protect a play-dough model based on what they have learned. Language focus is on describing movement, patterns, and supporting claims with evidence.

The ACTFL/ILR Oral Proficiency Interview by computer (OPIc) exam tests for speaking skills and is offered for various languages, Arabic being one of them. In this unit, students observe a video of the Scablands. Students test the effects of different rates of water flows in stream tables and use it as evidence to argue that the Scablands were formed by flooding. They then engineer and test flood mitigation in stream tables and also build a model of rock layers. Lastly, students observe maps of Oregon and argue where one could avoid earthquakes, tsunamis and volcanoes.
