This course accessibility matrix template, designed to help assess the accessibility of courses in the University of Edinburgh’s Learn virtual learning environment, was informed by the WCAG criteria and University policy. It focuses both on the course and the materials uploaded to it, in particular popular formats (e.g. MS Office documents) and aspects of their accessibility which are readily adjustable, for instance formatting of text, formatting of documents etc. The matrix takes the form of a series of questions, objective where possible, the answers to which are standardised.

Cultural heritage has a crucial role to play in education, and we want to bring this source of knowledge to every learner, educator and educational organisation. One of the ways that we do this is through Europeana’s Education MOOCs - or Massive Online Open Courses - which allow large numbers of participants to learn new skills and develop their knowledge through online teaching. The online course will explore the educational potential of digital cultural heritage to support teachers and educators to efficiently integrate it into their lessons and practices, regardless of the subject they teach. The final goal is to design engaging content for students, museumgoers and lifelong learners to prepare them as active and responsible citizens and to thrive. Register now: https://www.europeanschoolnetacademy.eu/courses/course-v1:Europeana+Culture_EN+2022/about

The main thrust is to explore conceptual foundation, instructional design, delivery mechanisms, Crisis Management, and Benchmark proposals for high-performing Emergency Remote Teaching plans. Since the Pedagogical Approach of ERT is also based on Humanizing Pedagogy and Pedagogy of Care to adapt to student needs, some other aspects include assessing the system’s current digital infrastructure (internet, device access), student and teacher digital capabilities, and budget availability must be considered while adopting emergency remote teaching. This work will prepare the school, university, and college teachers to acquire 21st-century skills and competence along with technology-supported pedagogical innovations based on different technologies, digital tools, and techniques to enrich the emergence of remote teaching experiences.
