    Overview

    Students will learn the research process by researching an African American Hero. They will use the Oregon Library Information System's 4 step process:

    1. Plan

    2. Find

    3. Create

    4. Present

    African American Biography Research - Elementary

    This is a collaborative project with the classroom teacher and media specialist to introduce students to the research process with an emphasis on intellectual property and using information and resources ethically.

    1. Overview of the research process.

    2. Discussion of intellectual property and taking notes.

    3. Exploring best resources to use, taking notes and citing sources.

    4. Work session - continuing to take notes and citing sources.

    5. Condensing information form notes and creating a blast box.

    6. Present projects to classmates.

    Students will learn the research process by following a 4 step research model from Oregon School Library Information System.

    4. Present

    An emphasis will placed on using information ethically with a focus on Intellectual Property and citing sources.
