This module will provide tips for getting started with the work of aligning CSCP practitioner time with the 80/20 model described in Washington SB 5030: Comprehensive  School Counseling Programs, with emphasis on intentionally considering how to be both efficient and effective with 100% of our time. By the end of this module, learners will be able to: Define "direct services" and "indirect services" and provide appropriate examples of each Analyze their use of time related to direct/indirect services, system supports, fair share, and non-counseling activities Develop efficient and effective work schedules that align to the 80/20 model Share time analysis results with their adminstrator as an advocacy tool to move their CSCP in the direction of the ASCA National Model

Natural High is a non-profit organization that focuses on the power of storytelling to transform lives. They engage storytellers who kids admire and trust and work with these influencers to create free and impactful content for educators and parents.The activities are designed to develop student understanding about the consequences of drug and alcohol abuse and also to support students in learning and practicing strategies to make healthy decisions. The evidence-based program is used in all 50 states and makes use of current scientific findings on youth behavior, brain development, social norming, and substance abuse prevention.This resource highlights activities in the Understanding the Consequences of Drugs and Alcohol area of focus. This is an accompanying teacher's guide to the graphic novel "Fighting for America: Nisei Soldiers. The book is a compilation of 6 Nisei, second-generation Japanese Americans, veteran's oral histories. These emotional first-person accounts are visceral and graphically moving. These veterans take us on the journey into intelligence units, into the life of a medic, and into gripping and pivotal moments of the Second World War. This unit delves into the fundamental science and historical contexts to help students explore the question "How can knowledge gained from the Manhattan Project and the Hanford Site contribute using nuclear technologies to positively impact humanity in the future?."Nuclear Chemistry is a great capstone unit for a standard high school chemistry course in that it is fantastic opportunity for students to explore the crossroads between scientific knowledge and the societal implications of new discoveries.
