A 23-year-old male with no significant past history, presented with a tonic-clonic generalized seizure. Physical and neurological examinations were normal. MRI of the brain showed a superficial cystic mass with a mural nodule in the right frontoparietal lobe. Patient underwent right frontal craniotomy with total resection of the tumor. The post-operative course was uneventful.

18 year old male with microscopic hematuria of several weeks known duration. He has no family history of renal disease and is currently not taking any medications. On physical exam, his blood pressure is normal (115/70 mmHg) and he has no edema. A renal ultrasound shows the kidneys are of normal size and shape, bilaterally.

A 15 year old boy presented to our center with progressive headache, vomiting, gait instability and reduced visual acuity of one month's duration. The patient related a head injury as a result of a fall while playing hockey as coinciding with the onset of his symptoms but no other significant history. Physical examination revealed severe bilateral papilledema.

This activity introduces students to the basic concepts of Groundwater and its movement. The lab format includes hands-on activities that allow students to construct their own aquifers, manipulate these physical models, and evaluate the behavior of the system. Students move through a series of steps to develop a basic groundwater system, assess the behavior of water and contaminants within that system, and then consider the implications of those behaviors in a natural setting including in their own water sources.

This course covers a survey of the human body that stresses biological principles, chemical interpretations, and physical applications at the various levels of organization. In this problem-based learning module, students will explore the importance of sleep and the impact sleep has on their lives.  During the launch phase students can choose to record sleep data via downloaded apps or in a sleep diary.  Days 2 through 4 have students explore the concept and necessity of living organisms need to sleep. On day 2 the participants will take a series of cognitive test for baseline data.  Through station rotation and a jigsaw activity learners will become familiar with circadian rhythm and sleeping disorders. Finally, days 5-7 have the students produce a video or infographic to communicate the importance of sleep and its relationship to performance both physically and academically.

I use single, euhedral, natural crystals of minerals extensively when teaching basic concepts of crystallogtaphy. Wooden or paper models, showy museum-quality crystal clusters, colorful pictures in a book, or even computer images simply cannot compete with the beauty and awe-inspiring mystery and educational value of genuine, individual mineral crystals when held in your (or your students') hands.
In my Mineralogy course, I use single, well-formed crystals in all aspects of basic crystallography inlcuding measurement of interfacial angles, determination of symmetry elements, recognition of crystal system and class, determination of forms, stereographic projections and stereograms, recognition of common twins and pseudomorphs, and even SHAPE plots - these are just some of the possibilities.
