This lesson was designed for English 9 students as an introduction to literary devices at the beginning of a short stories unit. The ultimate goal will be that students can analyze a story, explaining how an author uses these devices to create literature, but this lesson specifically focuses on domain-specific vocabulary.

Abstract
Literary Voice overviews the conventions of short stories, poems, dramatic works, and novels. The text features several chapters on the writing process and is focused on getting students to experience literature. Sections on reading literature as a critic and writing about literature in academic settings are accompanied by chapters on the genres.

Description
The Literary Voice is an introduction to literature text created through the SUNY OER Initiative. With few exceptions (noted in the credits for each page), the mini-lectures are self-created. The text has a genre-based focus, with the readings being listed within each genre's chapter in rough chronology. Many of the works are linked. The text contains five plays and a lengthy literary nonfiction chapter in addition to the fiction and poetry chapters. Siddhartha, Hermann Hesse's modernist novel of India, is included in its entirety. I intentionally include more readings than any one course would get through in case instructors wish to tailor the content. Just as easily, they could organize the course either chronologically or thematically. Several chapters discuss academic writing, specifically as it applies to literary analysis. Several of the readings are personal favorites that adapt well to an introduction to literature survey.

City of Bangalore was put on world aviation map in 1941 by Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL). Initial purpose of Airport was to build and repair planes in India and later for commercial operations. Since then city has not looked back, currently has four airports that caters to different segment of aviation. HAL airport continue to support civilian, VIP aircraft movements, charter flights and air ambulances, Yalehankha Airport for defense training, Jakkur Airport for training and hobby flying and newly built BIAL (Bangalore International Airport Ltd) for civil domestic and international operations. The growth of aviation infrastructure and particular airports has led to significant social, economic and environmental impact. There is not much effort from government for measuring, monitoring, sharing and containing the impact. India is signatory to UN SDG (Sustainable Development Goals), COP27 goals and there is ample need for periodically assessing ESG impact and take measure.

Literature Review: Effective Digital Game-Based Learning

As of 2019, “Research has shown 74% of teachers already implement digital game-based learning to help augment instruction” (Cahill, 2019). Some of these games are popular entertainment games used for educational purposes identified by the teacher. Other games are provided to educators from digital game-based learning (DGBL) platforms determined by administrators and school districts. There is no general consensus amongst experts on how to most effectively apply digital game-based learning to garner the most improvement for student achievement. With such a lack of guidance, educators are open to deciding when and how often to use DGBL. This paper will seek to develop recommended best practices for the use of digital game-based learning by analyzing literature and studies about DGBL.

To prepare for this writing assignment, students do a series of discussion section and homework assignments designed to familiarize them with scientific literature, literature reviews and the reading and interpretation of scientific papers and figures. In class students received a lecture on the example literature review providing continuity of topical content, in more depth than class lecture. The condensed literature review exercise serves as preparation for their term project, which includes a term paper and a presentation on a climate related topic of their choice. The topic content could be exchanged for any other for this writing exercise.
