This Wakelet is a collection of links to free online resources that address all areas of teaching the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). The resources are grouped together in smaller, topic-based collections. A range of resources are provided for K-12, and additional links will be continually added to the collection. 

These ancillary materials, created under a Round 15 Textbook Transformation Grant, are developed for use with NOBA Project resources in Introduction to Abnormal Psychology courses.

This is an online module on the topic NOUNS for class 5. After introducing the topic, the section for games and activities have been included to keep the interest and attention of the students. The later sections of the module contain different activities to develop the English language skills. The last section is of Quiz where the learners can practice their existing knowledge while stimulating interest in learning about the subject matter. This module is multidirectional and has a variety of activities not only for learning but for enjoyment too. It has been made by keeping in mind these 4 major considerations: Effectiveness of the material; efficiency of using the material; the appeal of the resource over traditional methods and extension or the materials ability to extend the learning opportunity and accessibility.

The activity for high school students aims to display the importance of water quality and how nanotechnology can be used to help purify the water.Day 5 includes analysis questions that cover content from Nanotechnology and Water Days 1-4. 

This series of videos walks students through the writing and revising process for narrative essays. Topics include conclusions, dialogue, transitions, organization, etc. Each video is under 10 minutes long. Users may access two videos before being asked to establish a free account.

In this activity, timed to coincide with National Coming Out Day on October 11, students learn about what it means to "pass" (as white, as straight, as Christian...) and consider what the pressure to "pass" costs individuals and society. The activity is structured as a circle, but can be adapted for use in a conventional classroom.

The National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. has an extensive section devoted to educational resources for both educators and students. One example is a pdf or online accessed text on the Dutch Golden Age. This is comprehensive in both history and art objects and is clearly written. There are more images than text, but the sections that are included are instructive. Other topics include the Italian Renaissance, Art since 1950, a module on Arts and Crafts, American Art since the colonial period, etc. Some material is geared toward younger learners, but much of it is appropriate for an introductory, or even next level, art history class. There is no licensing statement, although it is copyrighted. There are teacher resources available as well including assessments and images. Individual teaching packets come with 20 slides, 12 11 x 14 reproductions, a cd with jpgs, and a separate classroom activity guide.

This lesson is an introduction to the concept of nationalism in modern world history.

This resource contains background information about Native American residential schools and a list of related sources. 

You will find a powerpoint with information about Native Americans during the American Revolution that discuss two tribes that are indigenous to region of the 13 colonies.  It includes slides that discuss which side they allied with, why they made that choice, what contributions they made to the war effort, and making allies with their particular side benefited them in the long run.  The resource includes a foldable worksheet that can me used along with the slides.  I have my students cut it down and add it to their interactive notebook.
