This is a problem set that involves the calculation of velocities from a Reynolds number, determination of Stoke's Law applicability, and calculation of settling velocities for a variety of grain sizes and materials. This can be used in conjunction with a lab but is itself just a problem set.

Consists of an instruction for how to write a discussion essay about the Stonewall Riots, with the purpose to compare the current situation for LGBTQ+ people in different countries, as well as to discuss how the situation has changed for LGBTQ+ community since the Stonewall Riots.  The instructions are customized for students with ASD, with specific focus on perspicuity, structure and visual aids.

In a traditional English Language class of 90 minutes with 50 students , the percentage of time spent by students to speak is too less i-e hardly 45 seconds per student. It reflects very less rather NO practicing time left for students to polish their speaking skills and thus they are left fumbling for words and speak incorrect English.

This is my final project for Education Technology at Fairfield University, taught by Professor Elliott. I chose to focus on Storybird, an online and app-base platform that allows students to write their own stories while utilizing illustrator grade drawings to elevate their tales. The platform also allows for students to explore writing lessons and become stronger writers while flexing their creative muscles.

This is an assignment for an Introduction to Media course. The activity includes students comparing and contrasting historic radio productions and contemporary podcasts. Students then choose their own short story, essay, poem, etc. that is approximately 200-300 words and/or under 5 minutes when read aloud. Students create a transcript of their story selection and create an audio recording on Padlet.com, a free media platform. Students then share their readings with classmates, listen to each other's recordings and discuss several creative attributes of their audio recordings.

This course is the capstone of the business major, because it incorporates elements from all of the core courses you should have already completed. Almost every topic should be familiar to you to some degree; however, Strategic Management ties them all together. This course begins with an introduction to the field and the definition of some important terms and concepts. You will then move on to identifying goals and formulating strategies before addressing implementation topics. This course will conclude with strategies for the 21st century. This course should be taken after all core courses have been completed and, ideally, near the end of your completion of the elective courses.

Although the primary goal of an exam is to test your knowledge, it tests a variety of other skills too. This includes the ability to think and write quickly, time management, dissecting a prompt or question, and more. This interactive tutorial will offer tips to help you strategize for your next timed exam!

This lab exercise provides a hypothetical, regional stratigraphic section for students to interpret with regards to depositional environment and tectonic change through time. The assignment is designed to develop and evaluate student scientific writing skills by having students submit a 2-4 page (double-spaced) report detailing the stratigraphic history represented by the section. A primary focus is placed on identifying how and why sedimentary environments change through time and how this change integrates into a broader story of the geologic history for the region in which the section is preserved.

We spend the first of three lab periods walking up a bedload-dominated stream bed that is a tributary stream to the Mohawk River. We notice the obvious flights of terraces along the stream. I ask the student to count them and walk up on them and think about how they came to be. We then think about how we might survey them, and document their presence. The students have a good idea what we're up to as we have stadia rods and abney levels. Then we go through the routine of measuring terrace heights using the modern stream as a datum. I then divide students into 3 teams and assign each team a different reach of the creek. In total we cover about 1 km., and teams are responsible for measuring the height of stream terraces above the modern stream and measuring with a tape measure their distance upstream from our starting point. On the second week we repeat this exercise on another stream, and then I compile all students data into an Excel spread sheet and ask them to do some simple calculations and plot longitudinal profiles of the modern streams, with terrace remnants plotted above the modern. They do this for both sides of each stream. They also plot a cross section of the stream valley at one point of their choosing to illustrate whether the terraces are paired or unpaired. On the final week, we tour the eastern Mohawk valley looking at much larger terraces that were produced by incision of the Mohawk, and we go to an outcrop of varves deposited in Glacial Lake Albany that crop out at the base of one of the terraces. The students thus get a sense of the large changes in base level that must have affected all the tributary streams in the region.
