This is an OER, Open Pedagogy project based on a reading of 1984 by George Orwell. Students will reseach a topic directly related to the novel and find a Wikipedia page that is lacking in information or analysis and edit the page to add substance to it. Proper citations are necessary. Deliverables include a project proposal, an annotated bibliography, an edited Wikipedia page, and a synopsis describing the plan, process, and outcome of their work. This synopsis will be presented and discussed in class at the end.

This lesson presents an overview of Wildlife Management.  Learners will identify characteristics of wildlife, relationships between wildlife, identify approved practices in wildlife management and research a wildlife animal. This represents a portion of the Introduction to Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources (AFNR) series in Nebraska middle and high school agricultural education.

Overview: In this lesson, students read background information on the life of William Carlos Williams. They closely examine and analyze a few of Williams' poems in order to understand his craft and the literary movement in which he formed his craft. Students explore different components of his poetry and then practice their own critical and poetry writing skills in an emulation exercise.

This unit of study focuses on Photo Gallery, a free image editing application. Each lesson begins with one or more YouTube tutorials and an exercise based on the tutorial content which can be saved for evaluation. It concludes with a final assessment which can be used to evaluate the user's ability to use the application.

This assigment was developed in the context of LaGuardia's Center for Teaching and Learning sponsored Learning Matters mini grant Connection Between First Year Seminar and Capstone Learning Experiences. It provides Liberal Arts experience to students across the academic spectrum and is designed for students in LMF 101 (First-Year Seminar for Liberal Arts: Math & Science) and is conducted in conjunction with students from a capstone course, LIB 200 (Science, Technology, and Humanism). The assignment aligns with the Inquiry and Problem-Solving Core Competency and the Written Ability. In this assignment, LMF 101 students research and read several articles centered on the topic of Women in STEM. They then write an essay that integrates the information from these sources to address the history, biases, and potential causes of the underrepresentation of Women in STEM. LIB 200 students peer review these essays, and LMF 101 students, in turn, respond to these peer reviews. The assignment concludes with a combined class discussion on the topic and the process. The overall goals for this assignment which also reflect the dimensions of the Inquiry and Problem Solving Core Competency and the Written Communication Ability rubrics are the following: Students will utilize the appropriate library search engines to find a resource relevant to a particular topic. Students will analyze and integrate evidence from multiple sources on a complicated topic, and they will use the evidence they gathered to answer questions and arrive at logical conclusions. Students will assess the reliability of data and/or claims made in the literature. Students will cite sources appropriately. Students will understand the importance of peer review, understand how constructive criticism can help improve scholarly work, and learn how to respond to feedback in ways to improve the outcome of their work.

By 2020, It is estimated that the huge number of IoT connected devices expected to grow more and more rapidly to fifty or above billion. The main reason is not a human population, fact that devices we use everyday life like car, light, fan, washing machine with connected entities across the globe.

In some years back the craft upholstery was used to describe the making of carpets, curtains, wall hangings, mattresses and the covering of furniture with fabrics etc. However, with the upsurge of specialization during the industrial revolution, which now dominates the industrial world, the word upholstery is limited to the manufacture and repair of stuffed furniture. The making of curtains and wall hangings has now become a specialized area for interior decorators whilst the production of mattress has also become another specialized area. Unlike small scale furniture firms for which the whole process of stuffing a chair could be done by one person, in large industries were mass production is practiced the process of upholstering is broken down into different stages such that one person rarely complete the whole task of making the furniture piece. The process of making an upholstered furniture piece can be broken into: frame construction installation of webbing and springs installing padding installing muslin and final covering making of cushions channelling and tufting.
