The Open for Antiracism (OFAR) Program – co-led by CCCOER and College of the Canyons – emerged as a response to the growing awareness of structural racism in our educational systems and the realization that adoption of open educational resources (OER) and open pedagogy could be transformative at institutions seeking to improve. The program is designed to give participants a workshop experience where they can better understand anti-racist teaching and how the use of OER and open pedagogy can empower them to involve students in the co-creation of an anti-racist classroom. The capstone project involves developing an action plan for incorporating OER and open pedagogy into a course being taught in the spring semester. OFAR participants are invited to remix this template to design and share their projects and plans for moving this work forward.

Economics in U.S. History is comprised of seven lessons and is designed to introduce students to basic economic concepts through analyzing diverse perspectives on the subject. Students will be engaged in a dynamic, interactive, and constructivist process of exploring media representations of economic issues in U.S. history. Such issues include the free market, industrialization, and The Living Wage Campaign. The kit will teach students to identify the Ě_Ě_€ÝlanguageĚ_Ě_ĺ of construction of different media forms and to analyze and evaluate the meaning of mediated messages about economics. This kit was designed for 8th grade U.S. history, but the document-decoding approach can be adapted for and used from middle school through high school.

This resource is created to introduce your students to the importance of biodiversity within an ecosystem.  The TEKS addressed is 7.10 B is stated and explained throughout the lesson and is reworded in an easy-to-understand objective allowing students to have clear expectations of what the lesson will address and know what is expected of them by the end of the session. There’s a 20-minute video from Discovery Education with comprehension questions embedded throughout. Most of the questions are multiple-choice, but there are a few that will require you to check yourself. There is an option to do the video live with students who are present in your classroom.  There is a set of notes explaining exactly what students are expected to write in their interactive notebooks that point out the important information.  Pairing the video and notes will meet the learning styles of all students. Finally, there is a 20 question interactive worksheet from wizer.me to check for understanding.  This would be a great resource for a flipped classroom assignment or for distance learning classrooms.

The purpose of this literature review is to analyze the positive impacts that Educational apps have on students' academic performance as well as teaching and learning. It will also cover the negative effects educational apps and technology can have in the classroom. As technology continues to be integrated into everyday life, the same is true for schools. Educators are constantly looking for new ways to use technology in their classrooms. To use the technology effectively, it is important to have quality, progressive, and effective educational apps for students to use during the school day. Educational apps can provide a lot of learning opportunities for students in every grade level, but relying too much on technology and educational apps can have a negative impact on student progress.

I used Wikipedia & Wikivoyage (RACHEL PROGRAMS) that we have available for our Correctional Ed Students. [No Internet, EVER for them fyi.] These trivia programs I tend to hold periodically throughout the year. I like to hold them around the holidays since they are rather depressed.
If your students have the full internet, they will be NO challenge for them. But with limited resources, they might take interest in some of the trivia here. It is mostly Geographical.
We gave out small prizes for the most correct, requiring complete sentences in their answers.

We chose these SDGs because peace and education are one of the most fundamental aspects in a society for it to properly function. Without education on a difficult matter, it will be hard to ensure peace if we don’t know the root, causes, or solutions to an issue.
