Short Description: This book covers essential business law topics of interest to managers, from the perspective of analyzing, managing, and reducing legal risk associated with business transactions.
Long Description: This book is an introductory text on business law targeted for use in an undergraduate or graduate business school setting. It covers the major areas of law typically taught in a legal environment for business course. This book covers these principles with a simple premise: law for attorneys focuses on finding legal answers, while law for managers focuses on *risk management*. That is, attorneys are trained to find the right legal answer to a question, or to argue that a certain answer ought to be the right one. Managers face a very different question. A company’s course of action will have certain probabilities of various legal consequences which need to be weighed. In that sense, decisions with legal repercussions are like any decision faced by a manager.
The goal of this text is to (1) teach students enough substantive law that they can assess those probabilities, (2) teach students enough procedural law and terminology that they can communicate intelligibly with attorneys, and (3) give a framework and practice in decisionmaking with regard to legal consequences.

This textbook offers a full 7-week college undergraduate/graduate course on cybersecurity risk quantification. A companion Excel-based toolkit with models is included and available for download in the book's resource section.
No prior experience with risk quantification is required.
The course is divided into seven modules. Students are introduced to basic and advanced methods and models for quantifying cyber risk. Students will perform a risk analysis and present their findings in week 7. In module 1, they are given background information for the course project and their first basic tool for quantifying risk. In module 2, they learn how to analyze vulnerability data and receive another tool to complete that work. In module 3, they will perform an attack analysis based on a scenario they will develop, and they are given their first model to quantify that risk. In module 4, they are given several tools and a fully functional FAIR-compliant model, and they will quantify risk in financial terms. In module 5, they are given two advanced models: a probability tree and a Bayesian Inference model. In module 6 students focus on best practices for present their results and communiating risk. In module 7, students deliver their analysis.

The Francophone Project is a resource that was created in order to bring awareness to the various French speaking countries throughout the world. Because culture is so important and often pushed aside in the classroom, we created a website for educators and learners of the French language to use as a way to access information about culture through natives. The website includes individuals from France to Canada, Algeria, The Ivory Coast and more. Through short videos, these individuals share certain aspects about their cultures while reflecting what it means to be Francophone to them. Our hope is that our project will serve to help people learn the French language, to appreciate all Francophone cultures, and to continue learning because it’s benefits go far beyond borders.

For years I’ve wanted to write a book about racism. But after visiting Barnes and Nobles, both online and our actual bookstore here in Boise, Idaho; I realized there were already volumes of books and articles written on the subject of racism. I asked myself, could I write a book on racism that would be different than the books already available? So, I started to think about my twenty years of personal experiences, conducting courses, giving seminars, lectures, and writing articles about racism. In those seminars, lectures and articles, I always wanted to make sure my students, the attendees , and readers learned something specific; something they could take home and use immediately. After realizing what I’d been doing for all those years, I decided that teaching something very specific about racism would make my book different. In all my lectures, seminars, courses and articles, I always had a primary goal; teach people how to move from being a non-racist, to becoming an antiracist. Everything I spoke, taught and wrote was about helping people to see where they really stood regarding racism and how to take the necessary action to becoming a positive change agent.

This book is a distinctive Grammar edition to “Deutsch im Blick“, an OER textbook housed at the Center for Open Educational Resources and Language Learning (COERLL) at UT Austin and authored by Dr. Zsuzsanna Abrams. This book was developed having in mind university students who speak English as their first language. Although this material was developed for university students, we believe that its content is also applicable to high school students, adolescents, and adults learning German. This Pressbook and “Deutsch im Blick” take the place of a traditional language textbook by providing varied activities that facilitate the students’ progress in linguistic skills and cultural understanding. Our approach to language instruction is interactive, conversational and fundamentally task-based. We see grammar as a means for enabling effective communication, which is why our explanations of grammar are concise and not overly technical.
