L'objectif de ce module est de présenter les bases du calcul financier, en se focalisant sur le concept central de taux d'intérêt. Les techniques d'intérêt simple et d'intérêt composé sont décrites et appliquées au calcul de la valeur acquise à une date future d’un flux financier payé aujourd’hui (technique de capitalisation). Le principe de l’actualisation visant à déterminer aujourd’hui la valeur actuelle d’un flux futur est ensuite étudié. La prise en compte d’une série de flux financiers échéants à diverses dates conduit à la notion d’annuité dont on calcule les valeurs actuelles et acquises. Ce module introductif à la mathématique financière sera suivi d’autres modules consacrés à des problématiques pratiques de la finance (amortissement d’un emprunt hypothécaire, calcul du rendement d’un projet d’investissement, …).
